First of all, Merry Christmas! We're so grateful to all those who took the time to celebrate the holidays with SERA00 at the theatre! For those who were wondering why I wasn't present or didn't perform...yeah. I kind of spent my Christmas at the ER. I came down with the flu :( Don't worry about me though ;) At least I have enough energy to be writing this post, but don't expect me for tomorrow's Stage either XD I don't want to get any of the girls or my fans sick. It is in no way an excuse, a hindrance, or something that you don't have time for. Those who complain about having to perform in a SERA00 Stage don't deserve to stand on stage. If you have no time for this, why are you here? Juggle your priorities appropriately.

CASUT00 at the Elections

Hey everyone!

Have you checked out the poll on the sidebar yet? Make sure to take a look! -------------------> 
So back to the elections a bit, if you haven't caught up on that yet, make sure to read that post first! (it's the one before this one)

Aside from the ranking changes, there weren't any lineup changes made to SERA00, and there weren't any graduations or promotions either. Considering that at least 2/3 of the things I listed above usually happen at events like this, I would say it's an accomplishment! (or disappointment, considering who's view you're looking at this from)

However, even though CASUT00 didn't participate in the SERA00 General Elections, they were in attendance and performed the title track from their recent EP, "Chocolate Weekend". In fact, they were the ones who experienced a small lineup change, and that was the swapping of members Nikki and Holiday from their teams. I added three lists, including CASUT00, to the List of Members page by the way~ Miss Avery says that this small change cannot be considered a lineup change or a team shuffle, since up until now CASUT00 has been performing as 8, and haven't performed as separate teams yet. The management wanted to even out the teams so that there would be an equal number of singers and dancers on each team. I'll post it below, but if you ever want to access the list again, you guys know the drill...list of members tab.....yeah....

2014 4th General Elections RESULTS! + 29th single

So here are the results for the 4th General Election that happened on the first of November! I would just like to tell you guys about a couple new website updates first. All the SERA00 member information is updated, and I added some new information for you guys too. If you click on the "List of Members" page, instead of the long list, you will see three links. As you can see, Sassan has reclaimed her throne, reaffirming her position as Centre of SERA00! Unfortunately, Luna had to settle for second place. I mentioned before that this election went back to the "usual" A, B, and C rank ratio - 16 A ranks, 16 B ranks, and everyone else excluding 00 ranks are C ranks.

The media members are definitely experiencing a change! While last year's Fab 4 still retain the top 4 places, there are a couple of upsets in the latter half. Maya has inched up a couple of places, and Kotoka has risen enough to just edge herself into the media members!

Who are some members whose rank rose significantly? Yumichan rose 15 places, Rome, Echo, Raine, and Macey rose 17 places, Mikayla rose 21 places, Tomiko rose 22 places, and Sammi rose 24 places, but I cinch the trophy - rising 25 places!

I honestly don't even know what to say. Anyone who attended the elections or watched the live broadcast (or read the news) will know that I cried my heart out when I placed 9th. I really think it's because I received such a wonderful opportunity to update SERA00's blog. It's almost been two years now and I know my name became more known in SERA00 ever since I started blogging. I thank all the fans who voted for me and everyone. I literally could not have attained this success without you all. I love my fans so much <3 I could go on and on (did you see what I did there? :P) but this post is not reserved for my personal thanks. But thank you, seriously!!

Okay! Continuing, who is new to the A ranks (as in, they were not an A rank from last year's election)? The answer is...Kotoka, Evie, Yumichan, Wyoming, Brindle, and Alyss. 

Most of the 00 ranks placed at the bottom, but that's okay! They're still trainees and their popularity will increase as their skills, experience, and exposure increase. The top 5 highest ranking 00 ranks in order are Tang Tang, who is the ace of the seventh generation, Soracchi, Emma, Yura, and Kailee. Actually, the ace of the sixth generation, Sammi, has experienced a good level of success as well, propelling herself to the B rank. Despite being the ace, she has not yet managed to emulate the success of her fellow sixth gen, Yumichan.

Yumichan's success is amazing, and I respect her for it. This is only her second election, and she's already an A rank in 12th place! The only one who has risen faster than her is Harley, who was FIFTH in her second election. HOW? I've managed to attain 9th place and A rank status this year, but it's my fourth election. (nevertheless, I am extremely grateful)

Are you still with me? (*applause*) The 29th single! Featuring a main cast of the newly elected A ranks, the SERA00's 29th single, titled "Land of Dreams", will be released on December 1st! Please wait for it!

Regardless of our ranking, we will all continue to work extremely hard for our fans! For a lot of us, just being in SERA00 and knowing that we have the power to brighten someone's day is enough. Please continue to support SERA00 and we will always strive to do better and better!

Apink's Eunji + more on elections and new YS group

Hey everyone!

I made a mistake last time when I was writing about YS Entertainment's new boy band. It's not only a boy band, apparently it will be co-ed? That'll be interesting to see!

On the topic of singers, let me introduce you to one of my biggest inspirations - Jung Eunji of Apink! If you're a fan of Apink or just a casual k-pop lover, you'll be familiar with their cute and innocent songs and image. In fact, they just made their Japanese debut, although they are not new to the j-pop world. (I apologize for the recent surge of kpop related posts, I realize some of you have no idea what I'm blabbering about...all the more reason to get into kpop! XD no I'm just joking - I'll try to have more usual content up soon!)

Eunji is one of the most underrated singers in kpop - her voice is so powerful. I mean, who is capable of singing a song like this live? (although her English is another matter :P)

2014 ELECTION SINGLE - 28th single

Hey everyone!

It's here! SERA00's 28th single will be released on October 17, and it will contain the voting tickets for our SERA00 4th General Election, which will take place on the first of November! Omg just typing about it is already making me nervous... Anyways, the line-up of the 28th single, named "On and On", features Luna, who is currently ranked first place in SERA00, in the centre. The rest of the main cast is comprised with girls who ranked high last year, so unfortunately I won't be participating in this single.

So make sure you get a copy of On and On when it's released on Friday and vote before the 2 week voting period is over!

This year we will go back to the original rank formations and have 16 A ranks (since the size of the main cast is usually 16), 16 B ranks, and the rest will be C ranks. As usual, the trainees remain as 00 ranks despite their ranking turnout.

Current kpop favourites!

Hey everyone!

I'm one of those people who love listening to music while studying. Or doing homework. Or anything, really. I know some people (like my mom) really can't understand how we focus if we're listening to music, but for some of us, it actually prepares the brain for work. Okay, maybe if it were in English, the lyrics might distract me a bit....WELL GOOD THING IT'S NOT ENGLISH.

Q. Do you listen to your own songs?

A. Rarely. I have no problem with SERA00 songs that I'm not it but um....yeah it's kinda weird listening to myself sing?

Here are a sampling of my current favourites! (I have tons of songs that I love that would never all fit in one post) Not all of them are extremely recent, but they're just ones that have stuck in my head the past few days. They aren't in any particular order.

2PM - Go Crazy!
It was 2PM that brought me into kpop, and so they continue to be one of my favourite groups. They recently came back with GO CRAZY! composed and produced by one of the members, Jun. K. 2PM looked like they had tons of fun in this chaotic electronic track, and the crazy dance moves are sure to get you moving ;)

Girl's Generation TTS - Holler
One of the most anticipated comebacks this month. TaeTiSeo's new track "Holler" easily reached a million views in less than a day. The girls show you how they've matured and improved since the Twinkle era with this flashy song.

INFINITE - Back
I am very impressed with this song. I am rarely able to find a song that I like after the first listening. Usually, it takes a couple of listens for me to start liking the song (see Twinkle below). However, this song was just so beautiful, both in the musical and performance aspect, that I immediately loved it. It only took until "can you save me" for me to fall in love with this song!
 



Super Junior - Mamacita
Oh Super Junior... Your songs are always so weird, so Super Junior-ish. I don't know why I like you. But I do. What else is there to say? THAT IS ENOUGH!



Henry - Trap
Ah, the multi-talented Henry who comes from my (and SERA00)'s home town :) I want his amazing piano skills! I'm not exactly sure why I like this song, so I can't say much other than the fact that it is a very very very very catchy song.



Girl's Day - Female President
I absolutely love this powerful, upbeat, sexy track. Everything from the music to the girls to the choreography, this song exudes an I-know-I'm-awesome vibe, perfect for a group of female presidents-to-be!



Taeyeon - I Love You
Taeyeon - the leader of Girl's Generation (SNSD), a stunning girl, and an amazing singer. Taeyeon's voice suits this slow love ballad perfectly. The emotion she is capable of delivering through her voice is second to none. I love every single second of this beautiful song.



IU - Good Day
This girl is also an amazing singer, but opposite Taeyeon, she has a very charming, innocent, fantasy-like vibe in her music. Stay tuned until the end for IU's famous three-step high notes! Which, might I add, many have tried to replicate on variety shows and....uh...well it makes for quite some funny scenes!



Girl's Generation TTS - Twinkle
Twinkle. A song that has 50+ million views on YouTube. The girls are fabulous and they know it in this sparkly music video. EXO fans might recognize it as the song that features Chanyeol, Kai, Sehun, and Baekhyun in the music video. Wow, this song took maybe around ten listens for me to start liking it. But now I LOVE it <3 I thought the melody was really odd-sounding at first, but trust me. It sticks in your mind like super glue.



Jin - Gone
Jin's Gone is a beautiful song with a touching music video starring EXO's Xiumin and actress Kim Yoo Jung. The song itself is one that sounds effortlessly impressive, showcasing Jin's smooth vocals. The music video was a real gem though - prepare to go through a mini-heartbreak. Nevertheless, don't let that stop you from watching it!



EXO - Peter Pan
Huge EXO fan here. When a group makes a comeback, I don't usually listen any songs other than the title track. Well, here's a non-title track named Peter Pan. The simplicity of this song is its charm - the ability to tell an inspiring story effortlessly. I really started liking this song after understanding the meaning of the lyrics (because we all want Peter Pan to be our boyfriend :P).

School Life

Hey everyone!
Long time no see!
...long time no connect?
...long time no write...
...long time no read...?

Okay, I'm going to be honest with you guys. I don't have a lot of posts planned, nor do I have a lot of time to write posts. Why?
I love being an idol. Entertaining people makes me happy, so let's make this clear - I have no plans of quitting being an idol.
Phew, breathe a sigh of relief, right? I'm not graduating or not blogging any more or anything like that :)
However, that being said, I had a talk with "the adults" and we concluded that it might be useful for me to further my education a bit. I don't know why I agreed -_- but I actually dropped out of SERA00 tutor school and enrolled in an IB school. It's not that SERA00 provides bad education - it's actually pretty good - but rather that IB education will allow me to expand my options and opportunities globally if I ever choose to do so in the future.
I don't know why I ever agreed. The workload is humongous and I'm still trying to find a balance between school life and idol life. But I chose this myself, so I have to see it through to the end. So while I do this, please bear with the lack of updates. I can't promise a specific date that I'll be back on track, but I hope it's soon.
If you guys have any ideas at all about what I can blog about, and what would interest you guys, please comment below. I will take all suggestions seriously.

Hey everyone!

This is just a quick update to where I've been the past week or so. 

No, I haven't forgotten about you guys. In fact, SERA00 was filming the dance version of our upcoming singles on the pristine white-sand Cuban beaches!

But you ask: does it take so long to film a video and why so far away?

Okay...maybe we had some fun too... Like a working vacation? We don't get many days off working as an idol so this was an opportunity to relax. Those of us in school are tutored year round to make up for lack of class time. For those of you returning to school, good luck! (baby good luck to you ;) )

Winter costumes in the summer?? +"The Thieves"

Hey everyone!

Who's cold? For those of you living near us, you'll be familiar with the random cold spell that hit Toronto and the GTA the past days...umm, 13 degrees in the summer?? I overheard our costume staff, Eliza and Asa, talking about getting out the winter costumes for our outdoor performance this weekend, since the venue has no indoors. 

Anyways, hope everyone's having a great summer so far. If you're bored and looking for something to do (aside from going to a SERA00 Stage, of course >.<) I suggest you watch The Thieves, a Korean heist movie :)

Promotions + NEW 27th SINGLE!

Hey everyone!

Good news; the remaining three 6th generation 00 ranks have been promoted! Congratulations Oakley, the new Angel member, Haley, the new Night member, and Scarlett, the new Aurora member. But I have more good news (I probably gave it away in the title) ... SERA00's 27th single!

It should be out sometime later this month or early September. SERA00's taking a new turn and we're going to bring you something completely different from our other singles!

Usually, each version has the title song, the b and c-sides, and then the team songs that come with whichever version you bought. However, this time SERA00's not going to bring you one, but three title songs! Each of the three versions (Type Angel, Type Night, Type Aurora) will contain a different version of the title song, which will be sung by the teams.

But only six members from each team will be participating in their single. The other four songs on the disc will be composed of the B-side, C-side, and two team songs as usual. A bonus 00 rank version, "You", will be included in each version. 

Now, why are there three title songs? All three songs have the same lyrics, but each team is going to bring you a different take on the song. Based on the line "maybe someday you'll be my dream", Team Aurora will bring you "Dream", a classic cutesy version. Team Night will bring you "Maybe", a version with a smooth and sexy feel. And finally, Team Angel will bring you "Someday", a version worthy of the team's powerhouse vocals. The participating members are listed below.

CASUT00 First EP - CHOCOLATE!

Hey everyone!
CASUT00 is back with their first extended play - CHOCOLATE!
Check out the tracklist; I'll make a more detailed post soon. (I guess I didn't actually end up doing that XD) EDIT (2015/05/30): I will add some detail below.

Cherry is a cute song with a fresh and natural feel. It is the only song aside from the title that features all members.

Chocolate Weekend is the title track. Fast, upbeat and happy.

Sunkissed is a smooth, sultry track reminiscent of Red Velvet's remake "Be Natural".

The Time Has Passed is a slower ballad showcasing the best vocals of CASUT00.

Inked is a fun, medium tempo song.

Sisterhood is an EDM, there aren't any lyrics. The track was created by ECTI's Fukuhara Kyou.

Evie's recent food adventures ^_^

Yeah...I won't bore you with a bunch of excuses why I haven't been blogging. On a happier note, I GOT MY G1 ON FRIDAY! Yay :)

Of course, although I may have been inactive on this blog, I still have to eat food, right? I have been taking pictures for you guys, I just keep forgetting to upload them. So here are Evie's recent (or not so recent) food adventures!

We went to this small Chinese restaurant to eat their tofu dessert (dou fu fa) as they're famous for their smooth dou fu fa. I had one with black sesame. 

Another time, a bunch of us girls went out to an all-you-can-eat Japanese restaurant called Yokohama. All you can eat...including the desserts...

It started out like this. 

Then it escalated to this...

And finally ended up like THIS.

Is that intense or what? The final count? SEVENTY EIGHT. Geez that's a lot of calories to burn off.

So last week I went down to Toronto for a two day work trip with SERA00. Since we were short on time, we dropped by a Korean supermarket to get lunch. I got the "famous" jajangmyeon (k-pop fans will relate~)!

Ok and finally, the day after I went out with Rome to this Japanese restaurant in Toronto called Café Michi, and their authentic Japanese food was amazing!

Yep. So my inactivity was spent pigging out on sweet stuff...yeah....well....I'll work harder next time >.<

World Cup?

Hey everyone!

Who is in SERA00's 7th generation?

Normally there will be one girl named the ace of their generation, which is the one Miss Avery thinks has the most potential and usually winds up being the next centre of the 00 ranks. However this doesn't really indicate anything, unlike official positions like leaders/captains/centres. For example, many fans recognize Macey Fent as the most talented of the 6th generation, but the "ace" is Sammi.

If you're interested, the first generation ace is Sassan, second gen is Fracken, third gen is Maya, fourth gen is Harley, fifth gen is Fawn, sixth gen is Sammi. The ace of the seventh generation is Tang Tang Tsang, but I haven't met any of the 7th generation girls before, so I can't give you my opinion. What I do know is that Tang Tang Tsang will be replacing Sammi as the centre of 00 ranks starting this Saturday, which leads me to believe that some promotions are in the near future~ don't take my word for it >.<

7th generation audition updates~

Hey everyone!

I guess I've been too preoccupied with the auditions for the 26th single to write about the actual SERA00 auditions for the 7th generation! Yeah, it's already been more than a year since the last auditions were held. Feels like yesterday, right?

The auditions this year were held later than usual, but it's also my fault for writing about it so late. Actually the auditions has already finished and the new 00 ranks are being announced this week, which is partly why I rushed to write this post >.<

Traditionally, all our songs and stages are choreographed and written for a 16-member main cast. Teams are usually larger than 16, and not all members perform in each team stage, with some acting as unders. However, for the past year, all three teams have consistently had 15 members. So it's been the opposite, with all members needing to perform and 00 ranks making up the numbers. 

Last year, fourteen 00 ranks were accepted, and this year I hear that more 00 ranks will be accepted in attempt to bring the overall count up to 60 official members, with 20 per team.

Sacrificing four hours of sleep - AKB48 37th Single Senbatsu Sousenkyo

Hey everyone!

I hope that we put on an energetic stage for those who attended our SERA00 Stage last Saturday. Some of us were just a bit more tired than usual...

Maybe that has to do with the fact that almost the entire SERA00 population woke up at 4 AM to watch the AKB48 37th Single Senbatsu Sousenkyo?

It started out with one laptop, a couple of girls, and the live internet stream. Then a couple more girls, some noise and commotion, more girls, even more girls, a cranky theater manager, and then finally the live stream was gloriously broadcasted for all of SERA00 to watch.

First, what's AKB48? It is one of Japan's largest, successful, and most popular girl groups of all time (excuse the bias). AKB48 was the inspiration behind SERA00, so every member knows about AKB, and that was why there were so many of us keen to wake up at crazy o' clock to watch the elections live.

Ok. Wait, you say, elections?? With around 300 members in AKB and it's sister groups, they hold an election, or a sousenkyo, annually to decide the line-up for the next single. Fans can vote in a variety of methods, with the most prominent method as buying their latest single which contains a voting code. As shallow as this whole process may seem, it is actually a widely anticipated massive event broadcast on media.

Soooo, what happened was that when Ms. Tallan arrived on scene, there were so many girls trying to watch it that she broadcasted the stream on a large screen in the theatre, where the members ended up spending well over 4 hours in the morning watching the AKB48 Sousenkyo.

I myself am an avid fan of AKB48. As a Mayuyu and Takamina oshi, I was disappointed that we couldn't help Takamina reach kami7 like she wished for, but was overall extremely pleased with Mayuyu winning first. She is living proof that hard work pays off (stole Takamina's catch phrase >.<). Mayu wanted it so badly, worked so hard for it, and was finally rewarded as she took the top place in the election. CASUT00 positions

More posts to make up for my inactivity (and more inactivity to come - exams TT.TT). This will be an informative post, I'll break down the positions of CASUT00's members for you. It's different from SERA00, in which everybody performs everything in sync; CASUT00 girls actually have positions.

CASUT00's team system doesn't play as big a part in their performances compared to SERA00, since they usually perform as eight, train and practice as eight, make public appearances as eight...

P.s. if you've read down to here I'll drop the news to you guys first, our company is thinking of debuting another group under the Infinity Project sometime in the future, but I believe they'll be situated overseas like CASU-J, not in North America.

Twinkle twinkle little star ~ 26th single

Hey everyone!
By the way, what happened to the 26th single I was talking about, the one we had to audition to get into? Well, it's finally here after weeks of preparation! It will debut on June 8, this coming Sunday, to entertain our fans, especially our student fans...as it's almost exam time *sigh* it's not just you guys! It's okay, we'll work hard because we love you all <3
What is the 26th single called? TWINKLE TWINKLE LITTLE STAR!
Seriously. Even though it has a title named after a nursery rhyme, don't be fooled - there's a reason we had to audition to be in the main cast. The choreo is really no joke. It's different from our usual fan-friendly dance moves. Our choreographer this time has worked with a lot of different artists, including many k-pop groups as well.
Twinkle Twinkle Little Star is actually a pretty upbeat song with no resemblance to the actual nursery rhyme itself...tune in on June 8th to watch our comeback stage ^_~
