Are you excited for SERA00 ON AIR: Scents of Spring? I'm pumped up for this weekend! Last minute preparations for the concert, including the dress rehearsal and sound/formation check will be happening tomorrow so unfortunately the scheduled team for tomorrow's SERA00 Stage will not be performing. Instead, it will be the debut stage of the 8th generation! They will be performing the newly created 00 rank 6th stage! They're the first to get the 6th stage, all the teams are still performing the 5th stage. Performances will feature only the 8th generation as the remaining 7th gen 00 ranks are also attending the dress rehearsal. As usual, the stage features 13 songs, a mixture of singles and stage songs. Here is the setlist and who will be performing each number (assume all if unlisted or if only centre is listed, centre(s) in bold):

The official 6th stage ends with our 31st single "Ethereal Day" and doesn't include Ice Cream, which is from Team Aurora's 3rd stage, or Piano Keys, a song from Team Angel's 4th stage. It's just that they can't perform Ethereal Day tomorrow because it hasn't been released yet but there shouldn't be any problems after that. As the centre of 00 ranks, Sayoung centres most singles. She also sings the solo song "It's Cute". Other 00 ranks who made centre in this stage include Henley for Wanderlust, Katalie for Bubblegum and Jenna for You. The cast members for each song are usually swapped each performance anyways so in the future you'll get to see a variety of combinations of members performing each song.

31st single at SERA00 ON AIR + new unders

Hey everyone!

Our new single, "Ethereal Day" will be SERA00's 31st, and the first performance of it will be at the SERA00 ON AIR: Scents of Spring concert. The concert will take place over two days, May 30-31st. The single will be officially released the following Friday, June 5th.

Ethereal Day is a sweet ballad (I guess that's the current trend with our most recent singles. Land of Dreams and Wanderlust were both slow compared to the dance track On and On). Accordingly, we have Luraland snagging her first centre position in a single since debut! Congratulations~ As well, we have our first SERA00-CASUT00 crossover with CASU's ace and main vocalist Arron taking the lower centre with Sassan. In the case of Arron not performing with SERA00, I'll be filling in for her. Aaand if I'm filling in for Arron then 8th gen Sayoung is filling in for me! That's why her name is in brackets on the discography listing, because she isn't a permanent cast member.

Speaking of filling in for others, our under system was recently scrambled again ("under" is the term for the girl who fills in for you if you're absent). I used to be under for Maya, who was under for Sassan, and my under was Yumichan. Since then, all of us have grown considerably in terms of rank, experience, popularity, etc, and not just us but other members as well, so the unders were redrawn (btw there are only 8 systems with the media members at the top tier). I'm now directly under for Sassan, Yumichan unders for Angel, Maya is at the top tier.

SERA00 ON AIR and upcoming concerts!

Hey everyone!

I just added a new section to our "Songs" tab listing our concerts. It may be surprising to some of you but we actually haven't held many major concerts. It's mostly just our annual summer and winter concerts...and those are only sometimes as well XD We didn't have a summer concert last year (management was probably busy with debuting CASUT00) but we're having one this year! It'll be a three-day concert titled "To The Sky". 

If you take a look at the concert list, you'll notice that we have another concert planned before that called SERA00 ON AIR: Scents of Spring! The tentative date is in June, and since our summer concert is usually in July, this concert may or may not push the summer concert back to August. Okay, so what is SERA00 ON AIR? Like it's title suggests, if you miss the live event, you can catch it on TV! The full concert will be broadcast on air, so you won't have to buy the concert DVD just to watch it (although concert DVDs will be available as well:p).

The first of the ON AIR concert series is titled "Scents of Spring", but the competition won't be as pretty as the title sounds! Wait, competition? Yep. This won't be like our summer/spring concerts which are a collection of our best performances...the lineup for this concert will be decided on scene by the fans. How does this work?

Download the SERA00 ON AIR app which will feature real-time voting for fans in the audience (the concert's not broadcasted live so unfortunately fans at home can't vote). There will be a series of "battles" in round. Each battle pitches two stages against each other, and the winners will be matched up in another battle in the next round. The winning stage is decided by 50% fan vote, 30% management vote and 20% member vote!

However, since we can't anticipate who will move on to the next round and who will get eliminated, the entire concert will be very spontaneous! The girls are free to choose their own performances, including who they want to perform with, and we sign ourselves up for each round. So if you planned a duet with a girl who is eliminated before your performance...better decide on another stage quickly! This intense competition concert will feature all of SERA00, CASUT00, as well as all 00 ranks including the new 8th generation!

ACE of the 8th generation

So this is a continuation of the last post, an answer to the question:
Isn't the ace of the generation usually determined with the release of the names, and why haven't they debuted on stage yet?

Yes, the ace is usually determined with the release of the names. However, this year, management couldn't decide on an ace, but saw no reason to keep the fans or the auditionees waiting for the results when they already had the official list. This is why the 8th generation names were released without an ace specified. As for why they haven't debuted on stage yet, is simply because they have to work their formations based on the ace, and if they don't know who it is...yeah.

So. Who is the ace? [drumroll] Sayoung.

Why did it take longer than usual to decide on the ace? Here is their explanation. The ace, as I've explained before, is chosen based on star potential, and becomes the centre of the 00 ranks. Just assessing all the girls on the surface without knowledge of their backgrounds, Sayoung is no doubt the best. But this is because she has been training with YS Entertainment for a couple years, compared to the rest of her generation, who are basically fresh off the street. The training is much more vigorous than anything you'll find in SERA00, and she has been through it for a much longer time as well, so I don't think it's a stretch to compare her with the veterans of SERA00.

That being said, management wondered if it was fair to the other girls for Sayoung to be named ace, as she has a considerable advantage. I imagine the second choice would be Henley or Jenna. In the end, management went with Sayoung because they concluded that while she has an advantage, it wasn't just given to her - it was an advantage she put many hours of hard work and effort in to gain, and therefore there's no reason to discount it.

YS Trainee??

Hey everyone!

I've gotten some questions after the post listing the 8th generation girls, mainly two:
What's a YS trainee?
Isn't the ace of the generation usually determined with the release of the names, and why haven't they debuted on stage yet?

I will address both of them, focusing mainly on the first one as I'll explain the second in a separate post. What's a YS trainee? First, of all, the name of our company is YS Entertainment. We're not just a large group of girls who randomly met with the same goal of becoming an idol and decided to create our own group called SERA00, and then create a complex system of stages, teams, auditions, elections, etc. All of this was envisioned and then brought to life by YS Entertainment. The company has a couple branches, with the first one established in Taiwan. YS Taiwan houses artists such as Huang Yu Yan, Tem:po, DRE4M, and ECTI. Then we have YS Canada, better known as the beginning of the Infinity Project, under which SERA00 and CASUT00 were born. CASUT00's sisters in CASU-J are managed under YS Japan, which also manages Dolce.

You might have remembered, around October last year I told you guys that YS was creating a new group in Korea? If you're wondering why you haven't heard of them it's because they don't exactly exist yet - YS Entertainment decided to hold off the establishment of YS Korea to focus on other stuff. As of now, there have been talks but nothing has been established.

Okay, so it's pretty obvious how to audition for SERA00 - as a rotational group, we hold auditions every year. However, the other idol groups are not rotational, so if you end up being in one of those, you'd be debuting not in an existing, but new group. How? You can audition directly for the company through any of the auditions held by all the branches. If you pass these auditions you become a general YS trainee, which means that if you debut, you won't necessarily debut under the branch you auditioned for.

Which is exactly Sayoung's case. She's from Korea, but auditioned for YS Taiwan, got accepted and trained as a YS trainee and is set to debut in SERA00 under YS Canada.

It's that time of year again...when SERA00 welcomes a new batch of trainees! Here are the latest 16 additions to our 00 ranks. I've listed them by their full names, and their stage name if applicable in quotation marks.

As there were last year, there are sixteen final recruits who are promoted to the 00 ranks. Of the 7th generation, two graduated (Calla, Silver) before promotion to official member. Eight of the remaining were promoted to various teams, and these sixteen girls will be joining the six 7th gen 00 ranks. Shall I introduce some of the girls? I'd like to mention that as I write about these girls, I'm trying to give you all a sense of the general hype within SERA00 and management. We won't know for sure what each girl is like until they publicly debut.

Let's start with the ace of the 8th generation...idk. She hasn't been decided yet XD I'll tell you when the news comes out. I guess we'll just go from the top. I'm not going to talk about all the girls, just the ones who made an impression on me. If you're reading this, 8th gen, don't be offended, I'm sure you'll all be superstars in your own time :D

Juhyun normally goes by Judy, and is a Judy to her friends, but she would like to adopt her Korean name as her stage name. Sayoung is a YS trainee (our company: YS Entertainment) from Korea, and is the first international member to join SERA00. Her future with SERA00 may be uncertain but one certain thing is that Sayoung has one of the sweetest voices not just in her generation but probably in SERA00 as well. Her colour is clear and distinguishable amongst the other girls but if I were to compare her to one member, her voice is most similar to Luraland's. I wonder if a duet between the two would sound nice? Henley...I don't know how to describe her. I keep on comparing her to Harley and I swear it's not because of the name. Anyways she has that specific yet unidentifiable aura about her that Miss Avery really likes. I could see her becoming the ace of her generation. Yep, I realize that description didn't really describe anything. Let's talk about Jenna, whose confident and stylish demeanour means that if someone told me she was a celebrity, I might just believe it. I'm not sure if her vocals are on par to compete with other solo artists, but I guess that's why she's in SERA00! Teamwork is our key to success! Any one else? Xue Ling also has that glamorous image about her, but a quiet glamour, if that makes sense? Fresh and natural but has the right aura... Somewhere between Suzy Bae and Gui Gui. Also. Romy and Rome are DIFFERENT people. Get it straight, everyone!

Who stood out in terms of skill? For vocals, I would choose Sayoung and Henley. For dance, I would choose Ice and Katalie. For visuals, I would choose Sayoung, Yuzuki, and Jenna. This by no means indicates the others are untalented; these are the girls that simply stand out. Think of it like this - does Eunji's amazing voice make Bomi, Namjoo, etc. any less of a great singer, or the other way around? Of course not, it simply means that if I were to pick Apink's "main vocal" it would be Eunji. (sorry non k-pop fans XD)

Also, some early news for those who are still reading ;) It's about time for a new song, isn't it? Look forwards to our 31st single!
